Personal Injury Law
I've been handling Personal Injury cases for almost 40 years. To me, this field of law
encompasses anyone injured or killed in an accident where another person causes
it as a result of negligence or gross negligence ( for example, 911 call takers or
emergency responders who have partial immunity). Sometimes the at fault party
is working at the time of the accident for a company, corporation or a public entity.
If your injury is serious or death is involved, you need to be sure in the case of
death that you have an autopsy done in order to prove causation of your loved one's
death due to someone else's fault or negligence.
I will sometimes take on cases that most lawyers won't if the case can help the public
and the damages are very significant. I handled one such case in the late 80s/early 90s
where a baby was dying and 911 in Los Angeles was called but the call taker refused
to send an ambulance and the baby died. This case did have an impact in saving
thousands of lives in LA because the city of LA changed their 911 protocol as a
result of our case. That is what makes being a lawyer for the people rewarding. When
we help not only you but others as well if we can. While getting proper compensation
with money is the main remedy in our civil system, for me achieving justice and
changing the system to benefit others is really why I became a lawyer.
