Psychology of Law
A significant part of any field which deals with people is using psychology in understanding your opponents way of thinking and how to best communicate with them in a way that will cause them to reconsider or re-evaluate their position. I go all out to convince adjusters the same way I do with a jury to see the merits in our position on the issues and in getting my pre law degree in sociology I care a lot about and have a good understanding of how best to deal with people to get the best result for my clients.
Sometimes this means compromise on one issue and aggressiveness on a different issue, both which show honesty and credibility which usually has an impact on the adjuster or supervisor of claims at a carrier. If I can convince the insurance company to be fair and reasonable then I can resolve my client's claim before litigation for the true value which ends up saving my clients the stress, long delays and costs of litigation. So I look at convincing the insurance adjuster the same way I would with a jury. In this case a jury of one or two including a supervisor. It is extremely effective and my clients appreciate this for the aforementioned reasons that they get what they want and are entitled to without going through the difficult and long process and risks of litigation and trial.
